This is a reliable website with very generous people from all over the country opening their homes to victims of the hurricane. We are trying to get the news out in as many outlets as possible.

    Thank you,

    Hello,
i’m french, i live in Paris and I do not speak any more very quite English :) nevertheless I send this message of solidarity to you. Thoughts.

  3. Diane M. Smith Says:

My family and I were some of the lucky ones that got out of Biloxi while on vacation. AFter watching the different coverage on Katrina for days now, I see a definite trend by the media, CNN in particular, to start playing the political card and I am appalled at it. “Myles” especially seems intent on trying to stir up annamosity toward government officials in an already volatile situaiton. Can’t the media just keep their bias out of the news for once and just let the victims speak their own minds when they shove their microphones in their faces instead of trying to put their own words in the victims mouths? None of us expected this and I believe everyone is doing the best they can. Shame on you.

ROLLING OUT THE RED CARPET & PROFITEERING

Carlton Hospitality Services, a Houston based staffing agency that is quoted as, “stand[ing] behind many of the top level parties in Houston and surrounding cities is “working together as a TEAM” to fill an important contract, the contract to serve food to the Astrodome refugees. Here’s what we know at this point.

Carlton Hospitality Services is staffing wait staff, yes WAIT STAFF, not volunteers to serve food to Hurricane Katrina refugees. The wait staff will be in uniform; black pants, white oxford (button down) shirts and black shoes, no word on the white gloves and British accents as of yet.

The wait staff will be paid a total $6,300 per day, the staffing agency is assured more. Estimates of $10,000+ per day. Who is footing the bill? Couldn’t this money be put to better use? Is this a campaign contribution kick-back?

Stop the PROFITEERING and help the people of Hurricane Katrina NOW!

  5. Stephanie Says:

I dont understand why we cant have people through out our country volunteer to share there homes with victims until there state is cleaned up. And have planes go in to new orleans and fly them to were they need to go!

  6. melissa Says:

Where are all the Movie stars that are so eager to help third world countries. Trump has a helicopter. IF Oprah can give aways cars she can sure help here. John travolta needs to fly his plane in and get people out. Where are they now, Jolie?

  7. cdu Says:

Melissa, you did good! That is all so true.To me chairity begins at home.To often we over look our own to help others, when we need help, there”s usually no help in sight.

  8. Jacqualine Says:

I am horrified at the masses of people stranded in New Orleans - It is inhuman for anyone to expect these people to behave in any manner other than the way they are already behaving - When faced with uncertain death from disease, snake bite, shootings or starvation and exposure - how would any of us act? My home and wallet are open for I live in northern California so it doesn’t help much - If you can help - please do so now - if not - please give what you can - my heart is overwhelmed with the pain of this catastrophy - The humanity - Oh my God - the humanity of it !

  9. Lives Says:

My prayers are with those in New Orleans, while I do not understand their ignorance of remaining when they were warned with plenty of time to get out, I am doing and helping in all I can. This world can learn a lesson and all of us need to remember, say thanks, even if it seems slow, people are out there trying. It is not like they were not warned. So, be patient, pray & know that help is coming and thank you to others will go far instead of constant critism of doing wrong.

  10. tony martin Says:

The new bankruptcy law have just taken effect. All the victims who are lucky to survive, will be screwed. Again.

  11. Gabe Says:

I’d have to ask a historian about this, but I think this could be the largest internal refugee crisis since the Dust Bowl in the 1930’s. Perhaps worse. Probably worse. We’ll see.
