While reviewing some of the comments made on this blog I stumbled upon this one from Jaime:
Does anyone know if they have a site to put names on if you have not heard from family. We have not heard from my uncle that lives in St. Bernard parish. I just need a answer because he has kids that really need the answer. Please if you know something.
I could not find any sites where you can “put names on if you have not heard from family” and therefore decided to use this blog for that purpose. I am making available this space for anyone to post info about their missing loved ones. Use the comments section located at the end of this post.

Robert McArthur asked about the Windjammer Condos in Biloxi. They just showed it on CNN a few minutes ago. It’s still standing, but has lost it’s bottom two floors. People, the most usefull site for information that I have found so far is the www.Sunherald.com. Haven’t checked this afternoon yet but there were no names posted yet this morning. However, there were descriptions of the damage around the coast siting well known landmarks that will help you get a better picture of the situation if you are familiar with the area.

I just wanted to say that the Orange Grove area is apparently not in HORRIBLE shape!! Also the Vancleave, Gautier, Lucedale area is also not as bad. I have heard from some friends and family

My father is missing. My family and I are very worried. The last time that we heard from him was he was still at home in New Orleans. But he might be at the big white vietamese church in Chef Hwy/michoud/dwyer with 300 to 400 people or more. My family been calling all the emergency hotline trying to contact rescuers to pick up the people at the church, but they don’t seem to be listening or bothering with New Orleans East people any more. Please Help Us!!!!!! Other family might be in there too. I just hope that people come Rescue them!!!!!! No one will listen to us.

I have in laws in Ocean Springs and Gulfport and Biloxi and have had some contact.
Ocean springs not bad if at least 3 miles from coast. Houses still standing with roof damage.
North Gulfport, houses still standing 8 miles from coast. Northern Gulfport not nearly as bad. Not too bad. roof damage.
Edgewater mall has about 2 feet of mud, but not really bad. Anywhere north of the mall in Biloxi is not nearly as bad as the rest. Beach BLVD is terrible.
Supplies on trucks coming in hard as of yesterday.

I have called State Police and all they say is Hwy 90 is closed they have no information on Smaller towns such as Waynesboro, Buckatunna, State Line. these are Towns on State Hwy. 45 has no one gone to see if any one is there? are there no rescue teams for Mississippians? why have the news people not gone any futher north than Covington or places like that there are people in these small communities also that probably could use help we can not help if we do not know any thing of what is going on in these communities, no phone, no cell phone and State Police will not and do not go and check on communities that you call and ask about! we know they are covered up with problems but any information will be appreciated on our Families. My sister worked at Jordan’s fish camp for years off Hwy. 45 South out of State Line and her Daughter and Sister also worked there, is it still Standing? we have no Cell numbers to call, as they had no Cell phones nor Computers, Just poor working white folk trying to eek out a living!. Cleaned house for many people in Waynesboro so if you have any information please please let us know. they probably have no phone numbers to call and let family know they are still alive or maybe they are not!.

Looking for Chris Lee and his parents of Slidell. Have heard that they may have possible went to an evacuation shelter but not confirmed. Chris worked with Mark McMaster in Kiln. UPDATE: The McMaster family was able to go see there home which was destroyed and in the middle of their street, Sam and Mona McMaster home was also destroyed. The McMaster families are temporarily staying in Wynne, Ark. Marie A. Tregre was originally at St. Charles Liv Center and then transferred to St. Charles hospital. Then to Kenner Regional Medical Center. She was on the 5th floor of Kenner regional Medical Center in the Long term care prior to the hurrican Katrina. She is an Alzheimer’s patient suffereing from a recent stroke. She is 91 yrs old. Please call if you have any info on patients transferred from Kenner regional to the airport. Several people think they saw her on a conveyor belt at the airport on CNN. It was raining.
