There is a link at wlbt.com for a survivors list of Katrina. If you have not heard about your family or friends, you can post thier name as “unknown” on the website.
This is a disaster never before seen on American soil. It is easy to find faults when you are sitting on the sidelines not doing anything. If faultfinders were out trying to help, more would get done. I agree with WhatswrongwithU. My mom is still missing. I’m am not complaining. I am praying and trying to stay positive. As soon as I am allowed, I will be down on the MS coast cleaning up and helping out.

I’ve been watching the news every chance I get and I’m so upset about the way r fellow americans r being treated. WHY? If it was up to me and I had the training I would fly a plane to rescue as many as people as I could.I don’t understand that people r sitting around watching r future die down there r children. Why can’t they get a big cruise liner with food and supplies for americans to go through the flood water instead of buses? Yeah the buses was a good idea but theres water duh! What’s wrong with bringing in the ships? I’m praying 4 everyone and while the mayor and Bush r laying in the nice air conditioned homes I’m praying 4 them too.

oh my gosh! look what katrina did our precious city of new orleans! a lot of people said that when they finally had a chance to see what katrina did to our new orleans. new orleans will never be the same again. just think about mardi gras ,tourist ever visiting our city again. we will surely miss new orleans.

this is for aVERYsadamerican. People are trying to get people out of New Orleans. The water covers streets. Out of 200 boats we sent down only 20 were small enough to get into the city - over down lines and debris. Unfortunately evacuations have to happen one bus load at a time, one helicopter full. The Mayor has not left NO since before the Hurricane. helicopters and boats are stopped because people are shooting at them. A friend of mine, a doctor was forced to leave because it was too dangerous for him. A neighbor was shot at while trying to get a child out of a tree. I believe with all my heart that rescuers, especially those who call this place home, are doing everything they can. Working almost around the clock until they drop from exhaustion. There have been over 100,000 people evacuated. When you pray ask God for Serenity to know that you did all you could to make this tragedy less. As for me and mine, tomorrow we will once again try to make the survivors life a little brighter.

I pay taxes, probably more than you do, WhatsWrongWithU?–and it’s okay to hold this government accountable for a lackluster performance. How would like your community to wait 5 days after a calamity struck? Is that “okay” with you? If Clinton was president the Republicans and Fox News would put his head on a pike. Oh, but wait, if Clinton was president FEMA would be able to its job properly and not be a watershed for Bush cronies. Aren’t you the least bit embarassed and ashamed that INDIA is sending us aid? Our country is fat, lazy and stupid and getting worse by the minute. Keep buying crap made in China so they can buy more missiles–then the real fun begins.
