One of the most haunting things about this entire devistation is the fact that there were so many dead in plain view and nobody took the innitiative to collect these souls. They died from old age, starvation, dehydration, lack of medicine, murder, robbery, police actions, lack of police actions, accidents and drownings. New Orleans Police Officers walked by these rotting corpses as well as did many of the National Guard troops. Nobody seemed to be assigned to collect these victims, although there were enough “heads” to perfrom a multitude of tasks. To see the National Guard walk by a murder victim laying in the street while they took photos of his dead body, and a Louisiana State Trooper standing around the corner making jokes about it is disgusting and I am sorry our country has degenerated to this level.
